ABOUT ME
Hi, I'm Leona

MISSION STATEMENT
AMERICA UNITED

WHERE I COME FROM
Originally from New York of Irish descent, I moved frequently as a child, from east coast Brooklyn to west coast San Francisco, before settling in the heartland city of Chicago. Raised by a single mom in section 8 housing, I know what it's like to struggle. Opportunities like the work-study program at my high school allowed me to earn money and develop self confidence. With hard work and determination, I learned all things are possible and am living the American dream.
A CAREER OF SERVICE
I proudly served my country as a medic for special operations in the U.S. Navy from 1987 to 1992. Following my honorable discharge, I attended massage school and received certification in 1990. In my ongoing quest for health, I earned my Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 1998. I ran a private practice in Georgia until returning to Illinois in 2003. Since then, I am the owner and director of a popular holistic health center in Naperville.
Throughout my career, I've earned repeated recognition for my outstanding service. During my time in the military, I was awarded two Navy Achievement Medals for rendering emergency care to special operations members during a parachute mishap. In 1996, I was selected from over 800 candidates worldwide to serve as a massage therapist for Olympic athletes at the summer Olympics in Atlanta, GA. From 2002 to 2006, I was one of only six chiropractors in the country chosen to serve on a federal advisory panel for the Department of Veterans Affairs. I was designated "2003 Chiropractor of the Year" by the World Chiropractic Alliance and have also been voted "Best Chiropractor in Naperville". Most recently, I received the American Red Cross "Hero Award" for my lifesaving efforts during a stabbing incident on the University of Texas campus in Austin.
